I die. Complete and utter amazement at these pics! They take my breath away and make me so happy to look at. We've already gotten some of the prints we chose and I'm chomping at the bit to hang them. But, as you very well know, I've been a bit busy. But just know it's on the horizon to share a master bedroom pseudo makeover cause I'm so tired of all our bare walls...they are fixin' to be filled with some gorgeous imagery!
Ok, back to the amazing Rubigirl and her serious skills. I'm blessed to actually have Hollie in my inner circle and one day we were chatting (when I was pregnant) and she asked who was taking our newborn pics. I realized I hadn't even thought about it. Possibly because we didn't get them for Nash and possibly because I was juggling a toddler and pregnancy. But she got my mind crankin' and started thinking.
Clover is a girl, it's different. Maybe when she's 15 it'll be the SUPER COOL thing to blow up your newborn picture in your room. Maybe all the girls will print them out and have them in their notebooks for school. Who knows? All I know is that it's commonplace now for people to get newborn portraits and knowing that Clover is a girl, it's different. Boys could probably care less.
But I think THIS WILL BE something that Clover will cherish later in life. She will. So we decided to buck up, pay the moolah and make time for some pics. When you're dealing with postpartum recovery and some sleepless nights, this really is a big deal. Again, originally I was doing them for Clover. But after one glance at these images, they make my heart so happy...that they feel like they were truly for me!
Thankfully, the session coincided with my parents visit so they were a huge help. Many of the gorgeous bed shots had my parents doing the chicken dance behind Hollie and making us all crack up. I'm not going to lie, my rather good-natured Nash was a bit of a toot that day, so we were even MORE thankful to have another set of hands (or two) there to help. (He was getting his two year molars and was on the verge of a double ear infection...gotta give the Bub some credit!)
Thanks be to Hollie at Rubigirl and her keen eye and killer captures. They are so dear to us and we will forever cherish them. Also, she actually also got some great ones in Clover's nursery too, but I'll save those for the big reveal post which I SWEAR I'll have done in the next few weeks.
PS - Zola is now to the point where she sort of steers clear of the Nasher Man (can't say I blame her) so it's tough to get the two of them in the same pic. We did manage to get her in some of the bed shots but as soon as our monkey started jumping, Zola wanted to skedaddle right out of there. Hollie did a great job capturing a few pics of ALL OF US, because the good Lord knows, that was no easy feat.
