Food and Drink: Real Simple's Health Guide - What Health Experts Really Eat

Saw this article in the July issue of Real Simple and wanted to share with you. Some interesting items in here that aren't in my diet and many that are. Read on for the good-for-you staples, snacks, and treats that health experts are really eating...plus, how you add them to your diet. LOVE THIS!

Frozen-grapes-1

Frozen Grapes

Have a handfull of frozen grapes at night instead of a sugar-laden bowl of ice cream.

Soda_water

Seltzer Water

If you're a devout water drinker, good for you. If not, maybe opt for seltzer as a better carbonated option. Mix in some real fruit juice for the perfect summer mocktail.

Almond-butter1

Almond Butter

Eat a spoon-full for a quick energy boost...and yep, right from the jar!

Sardine

Sardines

Rich in omega 3 fatty acids...sardines are about to have their health food moment!

  Greek yogurt

Greek Yogurt

Generally higher in protein/lower in sugar than other yogurts, it helps keep blood sugar stable and staves off a mid-morning crash.

Wheat

Shredded Wheat

Fiber, less sodium than other cereals...add fruit and skim milk for the perfect afternoon snack.

  Hard-boiled-egg

Hard Boiled Egg

They contain nutrients that benefit your eyes, brain and hair...making them a smart, no-fuss, easy to transport snack.

Chocolate milk

Chocolate Milk

Yep, we were happy to see this on the list too. Loaded with calcium and vitamin D, the mix of proteins and carbs is a perfect post-workout drink.
