Personal Peek: Our Weekend - Garage Saling, Kindle Cover Making and Fetch Playing

Thought you guys might like a peek inside on what really goes down, most weekends, around CasaCullen. I must admit, we're a rather boring bunch, but we always have some project up our sleeve and usually spend half the weekend relaxing around the house. Here's what we were up to these past few days!

First of all, we laid out in the yard for a few hours on Saturday afternoon and it was pure heaven. Spring breezes and warm sun, the only reason we finally stirred was to cross off some to-do list items. We both got a bit of sun and Zola relaxed and played fetch non-stop.

Obviously, it's time to mow...but I loved the angle of that tiny puppy running back and forth when I was laying down. So I decided to get my lazy bums up, grab our camera and shoot the video, above. That tiny nerdy could play fetch all day long. We secretly think she's a labrador trapped in a yorkie's body, ha!

Also, are you wondering why Walt didn't keep throwing the ball? A massive bird was circling overhead (which obviously happens quite a bit in Texas) so we kept Zola by us for about 15 minutes and man o man, was that puppy ever restless. She'd look at us, look at her ball, look at us, look at her ball. I know she was like, 'You lazy bums, throw my ball already!' Not gonna happen, gotta keep our furry angel safe!

Walt spent hours attempting to make a Kindle cover from an old book. He ruined a few good books before he got the hang of it. I heard a few grunts and groans during the process but we hope to share the after sometime soon. Oh, you don't say, you didn't know he got a Kindle? Well, well...it was my anniversary gift to him and yep, note to self, post our San Antonio anniversary trips soon. We ate our way through that great city and can't wait to share all the details!

Remember THIS post about all the freebie finds we recently acquired? Well we've decided to give this floor lamp and new life and fresh new pop of color. Walt was busy working on this with his tiny hair helper in tow!

Garage sale find of the century! That's right...this is about to be our master bedroom full length mirror. I know you're just drooling at the gorgeousness but once I tell you the total price, you'll surely want to leap through your computer scream and slap me with jealousy. We scored this puppy for $20! Our entire neighborhood had a massive garage sale.

Every street had a few sales kicking it and we just happened upon a lovely gentleman that was moving and getting rid of all his furniture. He quoted me at $30 (still a great deal) and I said, 'How about $20?' and he retorted with, 'Sold!' As Hubster headed to pull the car up, about 5 people asked about OUR MIRROR! One lady even asked me what I paid, so I told her and she gasped, rolled her eyes at me and walked away. Lady, don't hate the player! Anyways, I can't wait to share the after with you!

Of course no garage saling trip is complete without something for tiny Zola. She accompanied us for our Saturday trek and when we saw this tiny rug (which, might I add, is totally luxurious and really great quality) for $.50 we knew it would be perfect for underneath her water and food bowls. Here is our hairy model, standing proud next to her purchase, haha!

Well, well...we won't need to borrow THIS from our Cotter friends anymore because we scored our very own, brand spankin' new, rotisserie for $20! I'm telling you, garage saling was pimp this weekend! Don't worry, we made sure it totally worked before the cold hard cash changed hands.

This is actually about four feet long, it cost $1 and we are giddy with excitement to show you what we're going to do with it!

Oh and here's my little laundry helper! Since we were out of town last weekend, it was due time to do some laundry...we had three loads (which is actually a lot for just the two of us) and Zola is always a help by warming her tiny lady parts and booty on the freshly cleaned clothing, bwah haw haw!

If you follow our photo and quote feed over on Tumblr (look at the upper right of our home page, under connect) you already know that my brand new MacBook Pro arrived with a defunct H key HERE. Ugh, so annoying, indeed! So we headed to the Mac store on Sunday after church only to wait in line.

Thankfully, I was chatting it up with the check-in guy (they're the gatekeepers, ps) and he asked me why I was in there. Told him I just needed a new H key for my laptop and he slipped me in to the Genius Bar 45 minutes early. Being nice...always pays off.

Long story short, they didn't have an H key that worked. So take a look at that picture above...notice something a bit out of place on my keyboard. That's right G's...this Homie has two G keys, playahs! They're ordering me a new H keybut thought the double G board would make you laugh!
