DIY: How to Install a Bottle Opener on the Wall

Related Posts with Thumbnails

We here at CasaCullen are always searching for a bottle opener. I think we literally have 50 but can never seem to find even one. It's like the sock stealer in the dryer has moved onto bottle openers. The hubby and I like to enjoy a cold adult beverage every now and then so for Valentine's Day I gave him this spiffy little bottle opener from World Market and he smiled in delight. Immediately he asked, 'So where are you going to let me put it?' I knew he would foresee this as being an issue of contention so I had my answer prepared, 'Anywhere you want!'

He literally looked at me with pure shock but then he realized I actually meant it. So he dabbled around the kitchen and decided on the most logical spot, right next to our big Simple Human trash can. I agreed it was the perfect place and it adds a bit of masculine flair to the area too. Plus, it's his own personalized touch and you know he'll be opening up his guy friends beers with so much pride when they come over.

I also purchased a great galvanized flat back bucket to catch all the tops. We haven't mounted it on the side of the island yet because we're thinking about covering the island in beadboard very soon. Just wanted to share a great idea if your loved one enjoys a cold brewsky as much as mine does. Enjoy!

CC Hubby is pre-screwing some pilot holes in the wall so that the nails will go in much smoother. He measured out where his hand would naturally feel good poppin' his beer tops and then made a small pencil mark. He was very excited to get this macho contraption on the wall.

Now tell me, does that look like a happy man or what? No more rummaging through the junk drawer for a bottle opener when you've got one right there, at your disposal. Very cool, indeed!
