One of our next home design projects is definitely going to be a awesome art wall above my desk in my home office. We have literally hundreds of framed pictures so I'm looking forward to giving them a home and adding some art into the bunch too. Not to worry miss Minnie, they won't take away from your Monets on my other wall, that's certain!
I think there's a real art form to getting your art wall correct and totally enticing. Glancing above, you'll see the upper right look anchors a larger piece of art by surrounding it with numerous smaller framed works all in a similar color palette. I adore the middle image where an art wall is actually used in place of a headboard...awesome! I think another key to perfection is mixing art with pictures and also not having uniform mat sizes or colors, too.
This is totally your call on which layout you choose, but one thing's definite...mix and match your frames for an eclectic mix. If you like uniformity, then opt for all the same color frames and make sure to add a touch of color with your art. There's no right or wrong way when composing your art wall but it's a fun and festive way to decorate your interiors with pizazz and chic accents.
