We had a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend. Seriously, I think it started on Friday February 5th when CasaCullen hubby came home with itty bitty Vday cupcakes, yum! We actually went out to a great Indian restaurant on Friday night and spent Saturday night relaxing and laying low around the house. We dvr'd the opening ceremonies so we caught up on that action and Sunday was a great day with friends. You know your friendship rocks when you don't even hesitate spending New Years Eve and then Valentine's Day with another couple. Love them!

We went to church, out to an awesome Thai restaurant for lunch and followed that up by attending a matinee of Valentine's Day which was actually super cute and the guys totally approved. So yes, filled with love, laughter, friendship and good memories...just what I was wanting. CasaCullen hubby loved his beer bottle holster and I'll be sure to post a pic of him later sporting his best Western face, ha! I did want to highlight something special we did this year that warmed my heart.

In an attempt to personalize and decorate our master bedroom, I thought it would be a great idea to write each other a tiny love letter that we'd have on our night stand for the next year and CasaCullen hubby was totally on board. (Sidenote: I know we keep slacking with our DIY headboard idea so as soon as that project is done, I'll totally post a new master bedroom picture.)

So how did we do it? We took some time away from our Sunday evening of noshing on steak and potatoes and drinking Newcastle and got down to business. I bought two frames from target for about $8/each because I wanted the nice kind with pre-cut mats. No parameters were given...I cut the paper into the correct side (love the torn edges) and we each wrote each other anything we wanted.

Basically we just decided that our note would capture what we'd love the other one to wake up hearing every morning for the entire next year. We'll change out the note next Valentine's Day! We read them out loud to each other (I know, barf...whatever, that's how we roll) and it was actually uber romantic!

Obviously, these notes I'm keeping personal (hence the blurred photoshop effect above) but I thought it might be a great idea to share with my sweet readers. I do believe that it should cost nothing to show your love because one of the best things you can do it just smile at your loved ones more often. I hope your day was filled with laughter, love and memories too...enjoy!
