Yes, we only have a sweet hairy baby, but CasaCullen hubby and I love kids. The hubby is one of those guys that will roll on the floor, get dirty, play outside and just act plain old goofy if he is in the presence of a peanut. He really loves children and there's one child, in particular, that we both are just completely gaga over. Our sweet niece Minnie. A red haired, blue eyed angel...we've been smitten since we met her at 5 days old. There is no limit to the love we have for that sweet tiny-tot.

With that being said...anything Minnie we can get our hands on, we will and we adore. We hosted my entire side of the family for Thanksgiving last year. Yep, we bought the house in late October 2009 and were busy hosting Thanksgiving a few weeks later. I'd have it no other way. We loved every second of it (ok, maybe CasaCullen hubby didn't love when the garbage disposal got clogged) but Miss Minnie was the center of attention and brightened everyone's day.

While in Austin, Minnie was busy showing of her new artistic side that is very impressive indeed. Quite the budding artist, I put her to work on creating some Minnie Monet's for me and the hubby (without his knowledge). Minnie got right to work and even tried to make her mark on our leather coffee table. Ahhh, but this here Auntie was pretty quick on the draw and no damage occurred.

I just wanted to share, above, the easy and inexpensive way we've prominently displayed her adorable artwork here in our home. I love seeing her sweet drawings on my home office wall all day long. They light up my mood and isn't that trio just beyond adorable?

Minnie's Mom/my sister was also happy to shoot me an email and interprat her tiny-tot's creations. From top to bottom of the wall-hanging trio, these were her thoughts, "I see a branch with a bunch of evergreen needles, a man running from a dog, and a guy throwing a kite in the air. What do you see?"

I honestly pondered my answer for days and could never match what this sweet and amazing mother's depiction of her baby's imagination. Obviously, the concrete evidence I needed that the bond between a Mother and Daughter is a creative and driving force. Thank you Miss Minnie for the fantastic and chic artwork that graces my office wall and hubby's office bookshelf. We adore you, sweet tiny!

Oh and just a decorating sidenote: I know you can now see that I've even adopted some awesome touches of turquoise in my home office but please bare with me as this room is a work in progress. I mean, sheesh, I even have mini-blinds still up in there. Don't judge!
